Punch Records in partnership with renowned music executive Rich Castillo are proud to launch the 2026 A&R Academy – an 8 week programme created to discover and develop the next generation of music industry talent from across the UK.
Designed for aspiring A&Rs, artist managers, label executives and future music professionals, the A&R Academy offers an exclusive opportunity to gain real world experience and insight into one of the most exciting areas of the music business.
A&R sits at the heart of every successful record label. From discovering new artists and developing talent to shaping creative direction and bringing records to market, A&R professionals play a vital role in building careers and driving culture. Throughout the programme, participants will learn directly from experienced industry professionals, gaining first-hand knowledge of how artists are signed, developed and positioned for success.
Running from 16 September to 28 October 2026, the Academy will take place every Wednesday and Thursday across some of the UK's leading music industry venues, recording studios and creative spaces, giving participants the chance to learn in the environments where the industry works everyday.
Throughout the eight weeks, successful applicants will:
● Learn practical A&R and artist development skills from leading music industry professionals.
● Take part in exclusive workshops, mentoring sessions and networking events.
● Build relationships with professionals from record labels, management companies and the wider music industry.
● Gain insight into artist development, label operations, marketing and release strategy.
● Develop their confidence through real world industry challenges.
● Pitch an emerging artist to a panel of music industry leaders and have the opportunity to A&R your very own release.
To complete the Academy, participants are expected to attend a minimum of 75% of all sessions.
The A&R Academy is open to 18–30-year-olds from anywhere in the UK who are passionate about music, culture and discovering new talent. Whether you're already involved in your local music scene or looking to take your first step into the industry, this programme is designed to provide the knowledge, connections and practical experience needed to help build a career in music.
Applications open on 1 July 2026 and close on 8 August 2026.
Places are limited, and we encourage anyone with a passion for music and artist development to apply early.
