WHAT IS GALLERY37?

Gallery37 is Birmingham’s major artist development programme for multi-arts collaboration and building careers in the creative industry. Meet like-minded people and build on your skills and experience with specialist training tailored to you and your art!

G37 comes around every 3 years and offers Birmingham based artists (16-25 years) a significant opportunity to boost their career in the creative industries, focused on nurturing creative talent from across the cities diverse communities and neighborhoods.

Focusing on multiple artforms, we experiment and collaborate, responding to the next generation of creatives, makers and producers. We offer personal, professional and creative development support and opportunities and aim to help build and encourage artists to fulfill their ambitions.

To launch the most recent Gallery37 programme (2019 - 2022), seven local artists were commissioned to deliver public art projects and engage with local communities of North Birmingham. These projects include Downlow, Birchfield Light Night & more.

WHAT IS back in?

BACK IN is a flagship programme investing in Birmingham’s future black filmmakers. Reaching creative talent from across the city region’s diverse communities and vibrant neighbourhoods and supporting them through a training & commissioning programme.

It is a detailed 9-month programme that needs a minimum of 2 days per month.

We’re inviting applications from individuals or companies that want to gain practical real-life training and experience around the following areas:

1. Networks around new funds and commissions
2. Budgeting and planning
3. Pitching (format and methodology)
4. Trips to film venues and independent festivals
5. Technical guidance and grading
6. One to one discourse with film production CEO’s
7. Conference on black filmmakers
8. Small film commission

The P Word

 
 

WHAT IS the p word?

The “P” Word is PUNCH's leadership development programme for artists and creative entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds.

It specifically targets professional and practical 'roadblocks' preventing participants' growth and success, and is supported by leadership experts from Aston University's Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship (CREME).

WHAT IS next level?

NEXT LEVEL supports emerging artists in contemporary Black music genres, including UK HIP HOP, GRIME and SOUL. Working through a programme of creative coaching including bootcamps, performances and studio sessions, NEXT LEVEL builds the professional and commercial acumen of young UK Black artists.

Music Potential is a partnership with Capital XTRA, an opportunity for 18-25 year olds, not in employment, education or training to work closely with the best music industry professionals to develop skills, knowledge and self-belief!

WHAT IS low down?

Lowdown is the opportunity to be part of an intimate group that hear from a music industry expert who shares their story, gives you actionable tips and the lowdown of what it’s actually like to be a part of the industry.
